Eating disorder treatment for people on the Autism Spectrum

Welcome to Door 2

Backed by research through practice, Door 2 is an inclusive, affirming and safe space for people with eating disorders and their families to come together, learn about and navigate true recovery from eating disorders.

Door 2 is the only program worldwide that offers education, treatment and support to address the specific needs of people with the complex interplay of personality traits, neurodiversity and an eating disorder.

The Door 2 Difference

We listen to and value the voice of the person inside the eating disorder experience. Through the wisdom of our team of recovered and recovering mentors we provide insight and meaning into this ‘Inside Experience’ that is so often misunderstood and misrepresented.

Door 2 provides this unique intel, providing carers with insight to help them identify unique and effective treatment and support that aligns with their values.

We value the connection and trust that families, carers and their loved ones with eating disorders place in us as we build an alliance where everyone feels heard, understood and validated.

Here’s what Insiders and Families have to say about Door 2

“After 7 years of evidence based treatment in the mainstream system, my kind, loving and funny daughter was beaten, broken and defeated. Then I found Door 2. We replaced trauma, guilt and shame with knowledge, understanding, acceptance, kindness and empathy. My beautiful girl is finally finding peace within herself, has a part time job, is trying new activities and learning to become more independent.

Door 2 offers something you don’t find anywhere else and this is the priceless knowledge of the Insider lived experience”.

“Door 2 is my safe space. My home. Before Door 2 my voice was silenced through years of ‘evidence based’ mainstream treatment. Door 2 gifted me back my voice. They listened, educated and loved endlessly and this is just what I needed to do recovery my way”.

“Door 2 saved me. I have always found life overwhelmingly painful. My existence innately wrong. Then I found Door 2 and for the first time in my treatment I felt heard. Seen. My voice wasn’t taken away but rather at the forefront of every decision being made with me”.
